Refrigeration · casters and rollers
The shoulder carries the load of a loaded drawer; the thread holds it into plastic without cracking it. Two functions, one cold-headed part, no assembly step.
The part
A caster or drawer wheel needs a screw that also acts as an axle and a spacer. The shoulder takes the radial load, the thread takes the vibration, and the head keeps the wheel from walking off.
Specification
These are the ranges we produce most often. If your drawing sits outside them, send it anyway — the answer will be honest, including when the answer is no.
| Material | Carbon steel, zinc plated |
| Thread | M4 – M6, coarse for plastic |
| Shoulder diameter | 4 – 8 mm |
| Overall length | 8 – 25 mm |
| Finish | Zinc, clear or white |
| Process | Cold heading + thread rolling |
Values shown are typical for this part family, not a catalogue limit. Final specification is agreed against your drawing.
Why it is difficult
A part that looks correct can still fail in the field. These are the failure modes the process is designed around.
| Shoulder fit | A loose shoulder lets the wheel wobble and the drawer jump the rail. |
| Thread stripping | Too fine a thread cracks the plastic boss; the thread form must match the material. |
| Corrosion | Fridge interiors are wet — a thin coating fails in the first year. |
